Light Leak II. by light, by shadow is inspired by a recent trip I took to the Corning Museum of Glass in upstate New York.
I was walking through their gallery, past rotating glass sculptures reflecting shades of light and textures against the walls around them, and found myself transfixed by the patterns and images that emerged out of their fractions. In this piece, I envision a layered sculpture with etchings, carvings, text, color, and texture laden in glass.
Through movement, light begins to leak from the cracks and spaces between the glass layers illuminating the etchings and creating artifacts of light across the ensemble.
Light Leak is anew series of interdisciplinary projects musical, sculptural, acoustic, electronic that will explore this light leak / /afterimage phenomena. Across the projects, I'll explore connections and share curiosities surrounding resonant liminality, memory, afterimages, glimmers, and artifacts.
